Discounted Tickets Available Online and at Major Retail Outlets Across The State
Discounted tickets are on sale for admission to the 2017 Great New York State Fair, announced Acting Fair Director Troy Waffner. Fairgoers will be able to buy admission tickets as well as vouchers for rides on the Wade Shows Midway online and at major retail outlets across the State. For the first time, customers will be able to purchase online tickets to the days of discounted admission prices such as $1 tickets for Preview Day and Dollar Day on Labor Day and $3 tickets for Three Dollar Thursdays.
“We enjoyed the greatest Fair in the long history of the Great New York State Fair in 2016 and we’ve been working non-stop since then to top it. We’ve got lots of new entertainment, more music than ever before, and many new and exciting events. We encourage everyone to spend a day or more at the State Fair and to get tickets now at this great, discounted price,” said Troy Waffner, Acting Fair Director.
Among the major new additions fairgoers will see at the 2017 New York State Fair: The new skyride, a chairlift that will gently carry fairgoers along the length of the Wade Shows Midway, bringing back a ride that has been gone from the Fair for many years; a new and more spacious home for the popular New York State Police exhibit; a brand new Turtle Mound in the Iroquois Indian Village for traditional dances; new entertainment shows around the grounds featuring amazing acrobatic and athletic skills; and the largest, most diverse lineup of national music acts in the history of Chevy Court.
The Fair’s only and official online ticket site, available here at etix.com, offers the full range of discount admission tickets:
- $6 advance sale admission tickets, 40% off the $10 cost of a ticket at the gate during the Fair;
- $3 Thursdays admission tickets, good on either Thursday of the Fair;
- $1 admission tickets for the Fair’s new Preview Day, Wednesday, August 23 and for Dollar Day on Labor Day; and
- Frequent Fairgoer ticket books, good for six days of admission, for $30, which is 50% off the $60 price at the gate.
In addition, the online ticket site offers discounted vouchers for rides on the Wade Shows Midway:
- A voucher good for a ride-all-day wristband for any weekday, for $20;
- A voucher good for a ride-all-day wristband for any weekend day, for $25; and
- A voucher good for a Mega Pass, which allows a person to ride all day every day of the Fair, for $70.
A credit card charge will be added to the cost of online purchases, along with a fee of 12 cents per ticket purchased. Vouchers can be exchanged for wristbands at the Wade Shows customer service booths. Wade Shows will also offer special promotions during the Fair. On Preview Day, rides will be $1 from 10 a.m. until noon. Monday, August 28 is Midway Monday, with wristbands good for 10 rides available all day for $10. And Labor Day is Dollar Day, with all rides just $1 all day. Wristbands and special pricing promotions do not apply to the new skyride.
Children under 12 are admitted for free every day of the Fair.
Retail outlets across the state sell $6 single day advance sale admission tickets. Among them are all Wegmans and Express Mart convenience store outlets in New York State, along with most Price Chopper and Tops Supermarkets stores. Some local supermarkets and other locations also carry the $6 tickets. Wegmans, Tops and Price Chopper, along with some local outlets, also carry the Wade Shows ride-all-day, weekday-only wristband. It can be exchanged for a weekend wristband at any Wade Shows customer service booth for $5.
Please note that $1 Preview Day, $3 Thursdays, Dollar Day and Frequent Fairgoer admission tickets are available online only.
