2019 Chevy Court Concert Guide

Music is in the air this year at The Great New York State Fair, and boy, what a lineup there is. Between head-banging rock, stomp-and-clap country, rising stars and legends you love growing old with, Chevy Court will have it all. The concert series runs August 21-September 2, with two shows each day. Oh, and if that isn’t enough—all concerts are free to fairgoers!


Mike Powell & The Black River

When a skilled songwriter teams up with the big, clean tones of full-blown band, you get Mike Powell & The Black River. Prepare to groove and sway to porch-party vibes perfect for the summer sun.

Bad Company

This rock supergroup has been entertaining audiences for more than 40 years, and it’s bringing the hits to the first night of the 2019 Great New York State Fair. Catch ‘em while you can—this is the only New York State stop in Bad Company’s 15-city tour.

Fun fact: The band’s name came from a picture of an innocent kid looking up at an objectionable character leaning against a lamppost. The picture’s caption read “beware of bad company.”

Devinne Meyers

An avid poet, Meyers grabbed a guitar at 16 and began blending folk, pop, soul, blues and more with an edgy yet compassionate vocal styling that resonated with listeners and turned her into a local favorite who’s played across the country.

Fun fact: She was offered a weekly gig at a saloon in Louisiana after the owner heard her play just once.

Grace Potter

This multitalented singer/actor/musician is bringing her life-of-the-party presence to the Chevy Court stage. With a personality that lights up a crowd and a talent that glows even brighter, her show is sure to impress.

Something That I Want

Empty Heart

Fun fact: Can’t get enough? Catch Grace at Grand Point North, an annual two-day music festival in Burlington, VT, that she helped found back in 2011.

CNY Songbirds

Magic happens when CNY Songbirds Donna Colton, Maureen Henesey and Joanna Jewett blend their unique voices. No strangers to standing-room-only audiences, these three will create harmonies you won’t forget anytime soon.

Fun fact: Though they’re veterans in the music world, the CNY Songbirds are Fair rookies! This is their debut appearance at The Great New York State Fair.

Lindsey Stirling

This violin virtuoso is certified star! With more than 10 million YouTube subscribers, billions of video views and performances across the world, Stirling is a unique talent who will dazzle and mesmerize when she takes center stage at Chevy Court.

Roundtable Revival

Fun fact: More than just sweet-sounding strings, Stirling is known for combining her music with impressive improvised and choreographed dance. Expect to see some moves.

The Brownskin Band with Joe Driscoll

A musical tornado of soul, funk and R&B, this band has been together since 2007 and shows no signs of slowing down. The rap and beatbox styling of Joe Driscoll brings even more flavor to the mix.

Let Me Love You

Fun fact: One of the band’s major influences, The Roots, will share the same stage at this year’s Fair.

This Chicago-born Miami-raised rising rap star started out as a producer but quickly took up rapping on his own tracks while in high school. Catch this promising prospect to see what’s next in the world of rap.

Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone

For the fourth year in a row, one the most popular performers the Fair has ever seen is returning. Led by frontman Peter Noone, the British pop band has sold more than 52 million recordings. That’s a lot of success on one stage.

New kids to the scene, Atkins Riot strings together creativity and rock to create music most people probably haven’t heard in a while. But what they’ve created is a tasty concoction you’ll want to hear again and again.

Theory of a Deadman

After their sixth studio album, Theory of a Deadman grew frustrated with the songs they were hearing on the alternative and hard rock charts. Now, thanks to the addition of a piano, their music has shifted gears and their newfound sound is ready to roll for a nighttime show at the Fair.

The Roots

You may have seen them every time you turn on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” but this legendary four-time GRAMMY-winning hip-hop group is much more than a house band. Formed by Tariq “Black Thought” Trotter and Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson in 1987, this Philly-based band’s live shows are frequently regarded as the best in the biz.
