Eighteen-year-old pop star Daya brings her Grammy-winning talents to the Chevy Court stage at the Great New York State Fair for a show on Tuesday, August 29 at 8 p.m.
The multi-ethnic and multi-platinum Pittsburgh, PA singer/songwriter moved the needle with her first two singles, “Hide Away,” and “Sit Still, Look Pretty,” each delivering a timely message of female empowerment that marked Daya as a breakout artist to watch. Her later collaboration with The Chainsmokers, “Don’t Let Me Down,” went #1 on pop radio and earned Daya her first Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording. Her independently-released debut album, “Sit Still, Look Pretty” has also been RIAA Certified Gold. Born Grace Martine Tandon, her performance name, “Daya,” is the Hindi word for compassion.
The show takes place on the second Senior Day, which is also Fire and Rescue Day. All senior citizens and emergency services workers with identification are admitted free of charge.
Concerts at Chevy Court are sponsored by Chevrolet.
