Dickey Betts, one of the greatest guitarists in rock history, is back on the road after a four year hiatus, and his comeback tour includes a stop at 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 28 at Chevy Court at the Great New York State Fair. The show takes place on the second of two Senior Days, featuring free admission for people age 60 and above. Concerts at Chevy Court are sponsored by Chevrolet and are free with admission to the Fair.
Dickey Betts is an American guitarist, singer, songwriter, and composer and is known for being a founding member of the Allman Brothers Band. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 and with the band won a best rock performance Grammy Award for his instrumental, “Jessica” in 1996. He is regarded as one of the greatest rock guitar players of all time. This will be Betts’ third visit as a solo artist to Chevy Court and the first since 2013. He has also made several appearances here as a member of the Allman Brothers Band."
