The Great New York State Fair is excited to welcome back Tom Nitti, along with his fiancée and fellow performer Ashley Bryant, to Chevy Court on Armed Forces Day. Renowned for their musical talent and energetic performances, this duo is scheduled to take the stage on August 28, at 1 pm.
Tom Nitti, a revered figure with a deep-rooted connection to music, service, and New York State, captured hearts nationwide following his participation in the 24th season of NBC’s “The Voice.” Nitti’s musical journey began in his youth, influenced by legendary musical figures like Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, and The Temptations. At the age of 18, he taught himself to play the guitar, just before graduating high school and enlisting in the military. Initially stationed in Germany, Nitti served his country with distinction and was later deployed to Afghanistan, where he sustained injuries and was honored with the Purple Heart for his bravery. During his recovery, music became a therapeutic outlet for Nitti, allowing him to heal both physically and mentally. This period rekindled his love for songwriting and performing, leading him in a direction that he didn’t even know would transform his life.
Nitti followed in his father’s footsteps by working law enforcement after his time in the military. He served as a New York State Trooper for nine years and continues to support first responders through his involvement with the New York State Police Academy where he assists with the training of cadets. As he continued to balance his commitments, his innate connection to music remained a constant source of strength and fulfillment.
Nitti's passion for music led him to join Team Reba in season 24 of "The Voice." This opportunity proved to be a career breakthrough, enabling him to open concerts for renowned country artists such as Craig Campbell, Hunter Hayes, Chris Janson, and Jimmie Allen. Beyond professional growth, his participation in “The Voice” enriched his personal life significantly. It was here that he met fellow contestant Ashley Bryant. Ashley's vibrant personality, shared love for music, and inspiring life journey resonated deeply with Nitti. Their connection grew beyond mere camaraderie, leading to a romantic partnership. Today, Ashley is not only the love of Nitti's life but also his fiancée and musical collaborator.
Ashley Bryant, who turned hardships into triumph after a life-altering accident led to partial hearing loss, has captured the hearts of many with her resilience and vocal prowess. Ashley’s journey through recovery and into music stardom showcases her indomitable spirit. Her participation in Season 25 of “The Voice” further solidified her reputation as a talented artist with a unique ability to connect with her fans on a profound level.
The duo’s performance at The Great New York State Fair last year was not only a musical highlight but also an occasion that brought together members of the community, including New York State troopers and veterans who gathered in support. This year promises to build on that memorable show with even more energy and emotion.
