- One of the Largest Events of Its Kind in the Northeast and Features the Latest Innovations in Agriculture
- Show Sold Out Space to its More than 400 Exhibitors by January, Earlier than Any Other Year
State Agriculture Commissioner Richard A. Ball today announced that the New York Farm Show, one of the largest farm shows in the Northeast, will return to the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse tomorrow, Thursday, February 23 through Saturday, February 25. This year, the New York Farm Show sold out space to its more than 400 exhibitors by mid-January, earlier than any other year prior. The Farm Show occupies more than 220,000 square feet of space in six buildings across the grounds, and draws exhibitors and crowds from Ohio, Maryland, Delaware and all of New England. Annual visitors to the Farm Show will be introduced, for the first time, to the improvements made to the Fairgrounds as a result of Governor Cuomo’s $50 million transformation plan to increase economic activity and draw tourism to the region.
Commissioner Ball said, “For more than 30 years, people from across the Northeast have been coming to the New York Farm Show to get a look at some of the most innovative agricultural developments that are helping our farmers work better and more efficiently. This year’s show, hosted by the reinvigorated New York State Fairgrounds, will provide an even wider appeal for exhibitors and vendors and will help bring an economic boost to the region. I welcome the New York Farm Show back to Central New York and encourage New Yorkers to visit the show.”
The 32nd annual Farm Show will feature the latest innovations in agricultural equipment, as well as services and products targeted specifically for farm operators of the Northeast. A number of other organizations will be offering workshops and presentations on forest management, agricultural safety programs, dairy robotic milking systems and related technologies, beef production and marketing. The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets’ Division of Animal Industry will also be in attendance, educating visitors about livestock identification and promoting biosecurity measures to help farmers prevent the spread of avian influenza.
The New York Farm Show is open from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day. Admission to the show is $5 for adults and children under 18 are free. In addition, tickets are available at any Northeast Equipment Dealership. Parking is free and shuttle buses will be available throughout the Fairgrounds. The show will be held in the Exhibit Center, Center of Progress Building, Horticulture Building, Science & Industry Building, International Building, and Art & Home Center. The show is co-sponsored by the Northeast Equipment Dealers Association and American Agriculturalist. A list of participating exhibitors can be found here.
