Everyone loves a deal, and everyone loves the Great New York State Fair’s food. A limited number of people can get the best of both worlds as the Fair holds a special Food Bucks sale starting at 6 a.m. Tuesday, May 21. For $15, people can buy $20 worth of Food Bucks that can be used for any food or non-alcoholic beverage product at any stand on the Fairgrounds. Only 3,000 Food Bucks packages are available. The sale is only at the Fair’s official online sales agent, Etix.com, here.
“Fairgoers tell us every year in our surveys that our food is the top reason they come. With more than 200 places to get something to eat or drink, there’s something fun and delicious for everyone. I’d get up early for this sale if I was someone who wanted this discount because I think these will go fast,” said Fair Director Troy Waffner.
People buying the Food Bucks online will receive a confirmation email that contains a link to a voucher. The voucher must be printed and brought to the Guest Relations booths at either the Main Gate or Gate 10, where they will be exchanged for four $5 Food Bucks tickets. Fairgoers can mix Food Bucks and cash to make purchases, but no change is returned for the unused portion of a Food Bucks tickets.
Up to four Food Bucks packages can be bought per person. With fees and taxes, each Food Bucks package will cost $15.45. The sale will end when all 3,000 vouchers have been sold or at 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, whichever comes first. Food Bucks are only good for the 2019 Fair and cannot be used at food trucks competing in the Fair’s annual Food Truck Competition.
