Ying Yang Twins Set to Shake Chevy Court Like a Salt Shaker at The Great New York State Fair

The Great New York State Fair is announcing the addition of the legendary hip-hop duo The Ying Yang Twins to its 2024 entertainment lineup. Known for their catchy hooks and party singles including “Salt Shaker,” “Wait (The Whisper Song),” and “Badd,” the Ying Yang Twins will bring their iconic style and sound to Chevy Court Stage on Saturday, August 24 at 6:00 p.m.

“The Ying Yang Twins and their hit songs have been electrifying audiences across the country for over 20 years,” said State Fair Interim Director Julie LaFave. “Their influence on hip hop and pop culture is still evident today and we can’t wait for fairgoers to enjoy yet another top-notch performance at Chevy Court!”

The Ying Yang Twins burst onto the scene in 2000 with their debut album “Thug Walkin,’” which included the smash single “Whistle While You Twerk” that reached #17 on the U.S. R&B/Hop-Hop Chart. The duo continued their rise to mainstream popularity after collaborating with Britney Spears on her album “In The Zone” and with Lil Jon on the single “Get Low,” which peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The group’s third studio album, “Me and My Brother,” produced the mega hit “Salt Shaker,” which climbed into the Billboard Hot 100 at #9 where it remained for several weeks. The album was ultimately certified platinum with over one million copies sold and helped to cement the group’s legacy as one of hip hop’s greatest acts. The Ying Yang Twins’ song “Halftime (Stand Up and Get Crunk)” also found success as it was the unofficial anthem of the New Orleans Saints during their Super Bowl victory season. The song was also featured in several video games including NFL Street 2 and Madden NFL 11.

The Fair starts Wednesday, August 21, and runs through Labor Day, Monday, September 2. All concerts are included in the price of admission, which will go on sale later this summer. The Great New York State Fair is the most affordable state fair in the country.

In total, The Fair’s Chevrolet Music Series will feature 39 national recording acts. There will be a daily 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. concert at Chevy Court (located near Gate 1), and a daily 8 p.m. concert at Suburban Park (located on the western end of the Fairgrounds, beyond the Midway).
