Get to Know New York’s Smallest State Park
Amongst the hustle and bustle of music at Chevy Court, carnival games at The Midway, smells of delicious fried food and the celebration of New York’s agricultural heritage is a quiet and relaxing one-acre green space with shade, picnic benches and even a pond – this oasis is the State Park at the Fair! New York’s smallest state park, the State Park at the Fair offers a sampling of New York’s public lands and the programs available to visitors.
Highlighting the many interpretive and recreational opportunities available throughout the 180 state parks and 35 state historic sites in New York, the State Park at the Fair has hands-on activities like mini-golf, live animal demonstrations and traveling historic exhibits from around the state. Representatives from the Park Rangers, Park Police, Marine Services and Environmental Education will be located around the park to answer your questions about starting a career, getting your safe boating certificate and identifying what animals and plants call New York their home. Cross this park off your bucket list and experience this unique one-acre space.
The visitors center will also house an anniversary special dedicated to the 250th of the Revolutionary war with artifacts from several historic sites around the State.
Meet knowledgeable park staff, learn about upcoming adventures, and discover live Birds of Prey—including eagles, hawks, and owls—and participate in the the new environmental carnival, providing fun activities for all!
