Hoops of Hope - Cattaraugus Seneca Nation member, Darice Sampson along with three generations of family, perform hoop dancing. Hoop dancing can feature dancers dancing with up to a dozen or more hoops, using them to form a variety of both stationary and active shapes. This dance was thought to be part of a healing ceremony which was designed to restore balance and harmony in the world. The Hoop Dance begins with a single hoop which represents the circle of life, and more hoops are added as they perform.
