If you find yourself feeling indecisive about what to do on a Sunday evening, look no further as The Great New York State Fair has what you want when Busta Rhymes takes centerstage at Suburban Park on Sunday, August 24 at 8:00 p.m.
One of the most influential hip-hop artists of all time, Busta Rhymes hit the airwaves in a major way in 1996 with his platinum-selling debut album, “The Coming.” The 13-track album peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and featured the iconic platinum-certified single “Woo-Hah Got You All in Check.”
Following the success of his debut album, the Brooklyn native went on to release four consecutive platinum-certified albums, including “When Disaster Strikes,” “Extinction Level Event: The Final World Front,” “Anarchy,” and “Genesis,” which all charted inside Billboard’s Top 12 in the United States. In 2006, he dropped “The Big Bang,” which vaulted to the top overall spot on the Billboard Top 200 Chart, propelled by the smash single “Touch it.”
“Busta Rhymes is on the Mount Rushmore of hip-hop royalty and has had a significant influence of pop culture, fashion, music, and more,” said Fair Director, Julie LaFave. “A New Yorker through and through, Busta Rhymes has worked with some of music’s biggest names and produced some of the industry’s most memorable songs. His performances are legendary and I can’t wait to see what he has in store for fairgoers on August 24.”
Three decades after taking the world by storm, Busta Rhymes boasts an impressive catalog of work that includes five platinum records, two gold-certified records, a No. 1 album, and countless hits, including platinum-selling singles “I Know What You Want,” “What’s it Gonna be?!,” and “Turn it Up.” A titan in the industry, Busta has worked alongside countless artists like the Notorious B.I.G., Missy Elliott, LL Cool J, TLC, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Eminem, Kayne West, Lil Wayne, and many others.
