With the summer solstice upon us, The Great New York State Fair is giving fairgoers an opportunity to spring into summer with a one-day, online-only flash sale, offering admission to this year’s Fair for $6. Tickets for admission to any day of The Fair, which will be limited to four per customer during the flash sale, will go on sale beginning Thursday, June 20 at 9:00 a.m.
Parking, which is separate from admission, and tickets for the Fair’s famous Midway, operated by Wade Shows, will go on sale in the coming weeks and is not part of the flash sale.
In all, 10,000 admission tickets will be available as part of the flash sale and must be purchased online by visiting The Great New York State Fair’s website. Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis and will be sold for a total of $6.28 each, which includes the price of the ticket ($6), ticket fee (.14), and credit card processing fee (.14). This is approximately a $2 savings on the cost of the Fair’s regular admission of $8 per ticket. Admission to The Fair is free for children under 12 and seniors aged 65 and over.
“The Great New York State Fair is loaded with value as we’re all trying to find creative ways to make every dollar count this summer,” said Interim Fair Director Julie LaFave. “Admission to The Fair includes so much, including world-class entertainment, mouth-watering culinary creations, exciting and interactive exhibits, beloved traditions like the world-famous Butter and Sand Sculptures, stunning agricultural competitions, and so much more. We’re excited for fairgoers to experience new attractions and enjoy their long-time favorites. Whether you’re looking to come for one day or our entire 13-day run, The Fair is packed with value and we can’t wait to celebrate the very best of New York!”
The Great New York State Fair is the most affordable state fair in the country. All concerts and ground entertainment are included in the price of each ticket. Regular admission will go on sale later this summer.
The Fair starts Wednesday, August 21, and runs through Labor Day, Monday, September 2. Admission to The Great New York State Fair includes access to 39 national recording acts. There will be a daily 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. concert at Chevy Court (located near Gate 1), and a daily 8 p.m. concert at Suburban Park (located on the western end of the Fairgrounds, beyond the Midway).
Updated concert schedules are available on The Fair’s website at pages dedicated to Chevy Court and Suburban Park.
