The Rumours are True: Have a Nice Day at The Great New York State Fair with Bon Jovi and Fleetwood Mac Tribute Bands

This isn’t secondhand news: two tribute acts honoring legendary musical artists are joining The Great New York State Fair’s entertainment lineup this summer. First up, Slippery When Wet – The Ultimate Bon Jovi Tribute will give The Fair a “not-so-bad name” on Chevy Court at 1 p.m. on Monday, August 25. Then, “Don’t Stop” enjoying the throwback and join Tusk, the Classic Fleetwood Mac Tribute on Chevy Court at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27.

“Runaway” with us to the Chevy Court Stage at 1pm August 25 to see Slippery When Wet – The Ultimate Bon Jovi Tribute pay homage to the New Jersey icon! The band was formed in 2003 by Jason Morey after answering many inquiries of “Are you Jon Bon Jovi?” To date, the acclaimed cover band, officially authorized by Bon Jovi to perform their highly entertaining show, has played over 2,100 shows throughout the U.S. alone, headlined on over 60 cruises on the Royal Caribbean cruise line, and played the pregame of Super Bowl 48 in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The band’s shows are the most attended and highest grossing of any Bon Jovi Tribute in the country.

Next, “Landslide” back into the 1970s when Tusk, the Classic Fleetwood Mac Tribute takes the Chevy Court Stage at 1 p.m. on August 27. What sets Tusk apart from the many other Fleetwood Mac tribute bands is more than the musical proficiency of each individual member, it’s the love and respect for the original band, and vocal similarities and costuming. The relationship among the five founding members of Tusk has a rich history that goes back more than four decades. Two met while playing Little League baseball, while two others met in middle school band and marched in lockstep through high school. All five have been playing music with one another over the years in various configurations of original bands, jam bands, singer-songwriter circles, and alternative rock groups. Tusk is more than a band; they are a family. Experience the wonder of a Tusk show for yourself, this summer at the Fair.

“We have a ton of great up and coming artists playing original works that we’re excited to introduce fairgoers to this summer, but we’re also so thrilled to get to work with bands like Slippery When Wet and Tusk,” said Fair Director Julie LaFave. “These artists are truly masters of their craft – not only paying homage to some of the greatest songwriters and musicians of all time but putting on a fantastic show too. I know fairgoers of all ages are going to enjoy these entertainers – don’t miss out on these performances!’”

The Fair starts Wednesday, August 20, and runs through Labor Day, Monday, September 1. All concerts are included in the price of admission, which are on sale now through the Fair’s recently launched Star-Spangled Savings ticket sale promotion. The promotional sale closes July 6 at midnight. Tickets will be sold for a total of $6.28 each, which includes the price of the ticket, $6, ticket fee, $0.14, and credit card processing fee, $0.14.
