With fewer than three weeks until the start of one of summer’s most beloved traditions, The Great New York State Fair is saving a parking spot for a “Purple Lamborghini,” as hip-hop artist Rick Ross will perform at Suburban Park on September 1 at 8:00 PM.
Rick Ross is the embodiment of hard work, which has helped to skyrocket his music career, as well as his career as an entrepreneur and an author. He has been nominated for a Grammy Award nine times and has won four BET awards in 2008, 2010, 2012, and 2013. Ross also has dozens of multiplatinum certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and five number 1 debuts on the Billboard Top 200 chart.
Rick Ross released his debut album “Port of Miami” in 2006, which landed atop the U.S. Billboard Top 200 Album chart and would go on to reach gold certification from the RIAA. From then on, he released numerous hit singles and albums such as “Push It,” “Trilla,” and “Holla at Me.” Ross has also collaborated with some of the biggest names in music, including DJ Khaled, T-Pain, and Nelly.
With his career in full swing, Ross continued to release hits such as, “Teflon Don,” “Live Fast, Die Young,” and “Self Made Vol. 1,” which featured Kayne West, Ne-Yo, Wale, and Meek Mill. Ross continued his ascension into rap royalty after creating his record label, Maybach Music Group, in 2008, which signed rappers French Montana, Omarion, Wale, and Meek Mill at the time. Building on his successful career in music, Ross ventured into the entrepreneurial world. Maybach Films was his “debut” into filmography while several additional projects are currently in production.
Ross is also a celebrated writer and has authored two books, including “Hurricanes: A Memoir” and “The Perfect Day to Boss Up.” He has been named a Bestselling Author by the New York Times twice, adding to his list of many accomplishments and accolades.
