Up and Coming Country Star Dax to Take the Chevy Court Stage at The 2024 Great New York State Fair

The Great New York State Fair will welcome the genre-blending music singer-songwriter Dax to the Chevy Court stage on Sunday, August 25 at 6:00 p.m.

Dax, a Canadian born Nigerian wordsmith with a cult following years in the making, is a brutally honest and gifted artist who has spent his career making music tackling compelling, relatable issues. The rising country and rap star has taken the music industry by storm, soaring to the top of the charts with his #1 Billboard hit, "Dear Alcohol." This platinum-selling single has captivated audiences worldwide, solidifying Dax's position as a force to be reckoned with in the country music scene. Dax continued with a flurry of releases, culminating in his “What Is Life?” EP in 2023, followed by a remix of “To Be a Man” with music icon Darius Rucker. Dax capped off a strong 2023 with his first US national TV performance on the Today Show.

With his electrifying performances and soulful lyrics, Dax has won the hearts of millions, garnering a massive following on TikTok (10 million), Instagram (3 million), YouTube (7 million), and Facebook (10 million). Dax’s talent, creativity, and undeniable stage presence make him the hottest artist in music today and are sure to thrill Fairgoers young and old.

“Dax is on the rise and on the horizon for him, 2024 promises new music, bigger shows, and a growing legion of fans,” said Interim Director Julie LaFave. “He’s a great fit for our famous Chevy Court stage and we’re excited to see him enthrall Fairgoers with his dazzling lyrics and unique performances.”

The Fair starts Wednesday, August 21, and runs through Labor Day, Monday, September 2. All concerts are included in the price of admission, which will go on sale later this summer. The Great New York State Fair is the most affordable state fair in the country.

In total, The Fair’s Chevrolet Music Series will feature 39 national recording acts. There will be a daily 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. concert at Chevy Court (located near Gate 1), and a daily 8 p.m. concert at Suburban Park (located on the western end of the Fairgrounds, beyond the Midway).
