The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets is actively seeking candidates for summer employment at the Great New York State Fair. 

These positions generally start in late spring and continue through Labor Day.

Fairtime Temporary Employment:

The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, Division of the State Fair, is now seeking individuals who are interested in hundreds of temporary employment positions during the 13-day run of this year's annual New York State Fair, August 23 – September 4, 2023.

The inability to work all the days of the State Fair will limit available assignments. The work hours, rate of pay, and duration of employment varies by assignment. Certain positions are needed in advance of the first day of the State Fair. Applicants may be subject to background investigation/criminal history checks. Positions do not include parking or cleaning - see section below.

The Department of Agriculture and Markets does not directly employ any of the outside food vendors or concessionaires.

Fairtime Grounds & Restroom Cleaning Employment:

Seeking individuals who are interested in grounds/restroom cleaning employment for this year's annual New York State Fair. Positions available for a variety of different roles, including bathrooms, grounds & buildings cleaning. Daytime, evening and overnight shifts available. Employment dates run from August 19 through September 8, 2023.
