Alternative hip-hop hitmaker gymclassheroes., led by charismatic frontman Travie McCoy, will bring his unique sound to Chevy Court on Sunday, August 30, at 1 p.m. at The Great New York State Fair.
Rising to fame in the 2000s, gymclassheroes. reshaped alternative hip-hop with genre-defying hits like “Cupid’s Chokehold” (3x Platinum) and “Stereo Hearts” (5x Platinum). McCoy’s unique ability to blend introspection, humor, and swagger in his lyrics made him a standout, while his solo career, highlighted by the global hit “Billionaire,” showcased his versatility and creative growth.
Kicking off this reboot, McCoy is leading gymclassheroes. into a bold new era with highly anticipated new music and tours around the world. Blending reimagined classics with innovative new material, the project explores themes of resilience and transformation through culturally impactful collaborations, electrifying performances, and compelling storytelling. As he reimagines his legacy for a new generation, McCoy continues to showcase the creativity, genre-defying sound, and artistic evolution that have defined his career, while honoring the qualities that made gymclassheroes. a beloved name in music. Fans can look forward to an exciting new chapter that bridges the familiar with the fresh and further cements McCoy’s place as a trailblazer in modern music.
“Travie McCoy’s distinctive sound and ability to connect with audiences have made him one of the most recognizable voices to come out of New York State,” said Fair Director Julie LaFave. “We’re proud to welcome him home to The Fair and excited for fairgoers to experience a performance from an artist whose talent continues to resonate with fans around the world.”
The Fair starts Wednesday, August 26, and runs through Labor Day, Monday, September 7. All concerts are included in the price of admission, which will go on sale later this summer. The Great New York State Fair is the most affordable state fair in the country. Tickets are $8 for adults while admission is free for children under 12 and senior citizens aged 65 and older.
In total, The Fair’s 2026 Chevrolet Music Series will feature 41 national recording acts. There will be a daily 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. concert at Chevy Court (located near Gate 1), and an 8 p.m. concert each evening at Suburban Park (located on the western end of the Fairgrounds, beyond the Midway). The Fair will also host two special shows at 9 p.m. on Friday, August 28 and September 4 at Chevy Court.
