“Can you hold on?” Because “things will go your way” when Wilson Phillips joins The Great New York State Fair’s Women’s Day lineup on Wednesday, September 2, at 1 p.m. at the Chevy Court stage.

If ever the term “music business royalty” applied, it was tailor-made for Wilson Phillips. Carnie and Wendy Wilson are the daughters of music legend Brian Wilson, and Chynna Phillips is the daughter of Michelle and John Phillips of the iconic folk-rock group The Mamas & the Papas. Lifelong friends, the trio released their debut album in 1990, producing three Billboard Hot 100 singles—“Release Me,” “Impulsive,” and the enduring anthem “Hold On.” Over the course of their storied career, which includes Grammy award nominations and another No. 1 single (“You’re in Love”), Wilson Phillips has sold more than 10 million albums worldwide, solidifying their place as one of the best-selling female groups in recorded music history. In a memorable and unexpected pop culture moment, they appeared in the 2011 comedy Bridesmaids, performing “Hold On” in a scene that introduced them to a new generation and reaffirmed their status as one of the most beloved harmony groups of all time.
